چکیده
Abstract In the past decade, cross-correlations of ambient seismic noise have been exploited in various applications to model shallow-to-deep structure Earth’s interior through tomographic inversions. The stack between a 2-station pair represents empirical Green’s function and comprises information subsurface those stations. practice, correlation (NCF) is analyzed reconstruct surface wave group or phase velocity dispersion; then, dispersion data used shear-wave (Vs). This study presents case for temporary networks deployed Jakarta Basin; we applied two-step routine obtain representative 1D Vs profile beneath an array. First, extracted our array’s average based on relationship NCF’s spectra Bessel function. Then, invert depth using transdimensional Bayesian inversion allow exploring number layers parameterizations. We successfully generate up 5 km reflecting regional stratigraphy Basin. general, sedimentary basin fill covers area reaching 650 m. suggest that this simple can be undertaken other cross-correlation cases; such would beneficial as reference model.

importance of mode detection in ambient noise array application for shear wave velocity profile determination
in this paper we are going to show the importance of mode identification in microtremor array analysis. the idea come from four concentric ambient noise array recordings with aperture 100 to 1000 meters, performed in southern urban area of tehran near the shrine of imam khomeini. these measurements were part of a comprehensive research project with the aim of determination of deep shear wave ve...
متن کاملTemporal changes of surface wave velocity associated with major Sumatra earthquakes from ambient noise correlation.
Detecting temporal changes of the medium associated with major earthquakes has implications for understanding earthquake genesis. Here we report temporal changes of surface wave velocity over a large area associated with 3 major Sumatra earthquakes in 2004, 2005, and 2007. We use ambient noise correlation to retrieve empirical Green's function (EGF) of surface waves between stations. Because th...
متن کاملSurface Wave Tomography of China from Ambient Seismic Noise Correlation
We perform ambient noise tomography of China using the data from the China National Seismic Network and surrounding global and regional stations. For most of the station pairs, we retrieve good Rayleigh waveforms from ambient noise correlations using 18-months of continuous data at all distance ranges across the entire region (over 5000 km) and for periods from 70 s down to about 8 s. We obtain...
متن کاملOn measuring surface wave phase velocity from station-station cross-correlation of ambient signal
7 We apply two different algorithms to measure surface-wave phase velocity, as a function of 8 frequency, from seismic ambient noise recorded at pairs of stations from a large European 9 network. The two methods are based on consistent theoretical formulations, but differ in the 10 implementation: one method involves the time-domain cross-correlation of signal recorded 11 at different stations;...
متن کاملThree dimensional shear wave velocity structure of the crust and upper mantle beneath China from ambient noise surface wave tomography∗
We determine the three-dimensional shear wave velocity structure of the crust and upper mantle in China using Green’s functions obtained from seismic ambient noise cross-correlation. The data we use are from the China National Seismic Network, global and regional networks and PASSCAL stations in the region. We first acquire cross-correlation seismograms between all possible station pairs. We t...
